If you like your all-new Ford F-150 enough to cook, sleep, and go to the restroom in it, you can now do so within a Ford-branded trailer or bed-mounted camper. Ford has announced a partnership to peddle campers and trailers with aluminum body panels and Blue Oval logos. Because camping quality is Job 1.

Ford’s first factory-authorized campers, built by Indiana-based Livin’ Lite, arrive next year in six configurations for both short- and long-bed trucks.
- -The roomier travel trailers and toy haulers (a travel trailer with a separate cargo area in the rear) will be sold in 22- and 24-foot lengths. Ford says the designs are unique, with a front window and wheels inspired by the F-150’s, plus leathers that look sort of like those on the mid-range Lariat. Later, the Ford name will be stuck on gooseneck trailers and shorter pop-up trailers.

All in all, it’s a licensing deal that’ll net Ford more money and ties Livin’ Lite’s existing aluminum-bodied trailers to Ford’s massive investment in the lightweight metal. Ford hasn’t announced pricing, but the smallest of bed campers can cost as much as a new base F-150, and trailers can soar above King Ranch heights. We’re more fans of stuff like the classic VW Westfalia pop-ups, but hey, those things don’t necessarily fly in the NASCAR infields.
