Are you tired of buying up Atlantic City time and time again, but still can’t get enough of acquisition and the evening-long financial domination of your friends and family? Worry not, brother, because Hasbro has just announced a new version of Monopoly Empire, the game where players acquire real-world brands instead of real estate. As part of the revamp, there’s new car to with which to mark your place on the board.
-Some fuddy-duds play it all ironical and hip, opting for the weathered old boot when it comes time to choose their gamepiece. But you know they secretly want the car. You know because you always want the car, and when you don’t get the car, you find yourself unreasonably miffed. The latest revision of Empire—which previously featured the Corvette Stingray—now features a new automobile. And fear not, your spending spree will not now come behind the wheel of say, a Kia Rio or a Fiat 500L. The new machine is just as red-blooded as the last one. It’s a Ford Mustang.

Ford is also a brand available for purchase in the game, occupying the yellow space held by Ventnor Avenue in the original version. We now find ourselves with the urge to drive a Mustang to New Jersey. Maybe meet up with Bruce Springsteen. We’ll be all-set Cobra Jets screaming through the nighttime. Then we’ll post up in Asbury Park for a nice, long game of Monopoly. Perhaps Little Steven will drop by. We can discuss the greatness of the Stooges while we charge him a tariff for landing on Yahoo!.
